The "roll off" shape will be much gentler and not as steep as this image. Also, your 1 band might sound better around the 200 to 300hz spot. Use the shape that looks like the picture on the 8 band but in reverse. But don't use the x4 shape for 1 band as shown here. Something like this image below is what you will be ending up with. Alone, it might sound a bit thin but now that the bass guitar and bass drum have all the low end "room", the whole song will sound way better. IIRC, around 200-300 might be a good spot but play with it and use your ear. But, don't go so far down where some of that low end "flub" is heard. Roll the pass way up until the guitars sounds very thin, then slowly roll it back down until you hear some of the "body" come back into the tone. Now, just roll off the low end by turning up the frequency dial. ![]() Uncheck all of the bands except the #1 band on the EQ and set it to the Roll-off shape (it should already be on that shape). Group all four tracks (highlight them and hit Control-G) and then apply the EQ Eight effect to the resulting grouped track. Then when you have the four tracks recorded, pan two of the like tones around 20-25% left and right, then pan the other two tracks about 40-45% wide left/right. For two of the tracks, use a different tone (not drastically different!), possibly different guitars. Duplicated tracks IMO will sound way too alike and therefore not add any flavor. I don't duplicate the tracks.actually record four different takes.
